I found some recently built, very modern looking office complex which captivated me for a while because the walls had a beautiful, rusty quality (I'm kind of big on rust if this hadn't already been apparent) and I shot the exterior of the building until it started raining like no one's business. When I retreated to the interior of the structure, I came across some magnificent lighting features that rocked my world.</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGrpTe_x81m2cYj90o4N79LkWz6vmtoVV3O7gifwRtwEqZpFAfqdP0kEpJwODK9Xy6lTwX8HCY35l7WtvVTG0CvtRSoHAAtGoafPE3K7XcHa25QF_SjWsDWKZr7wsQugeSpfhh0s3BX6o/s1600/Overhead+Disks1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGrpTe_x81m2cYj90o4N79LkWz6vmtoVV3O7gifwRtwEqZpFAfqdP0kEpJwODK9Xy6lTwX8HCY35l7WtvVTG0CvtRSoHAAtGoafPE3K7XcHa25QF_SjWsDWKZr7wsQugeSpfhh0s3BX6o/s400/Overhead+Disks1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407766761950684882" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFRtGauY4CHOplg-OGWeUQaC9k1XPZTKA-gF50Q3Hr91Qgw_1t0ZCoO9M2w9EFWmLRmZK00FdhQ8ORW3nXiK79wGDQ9Mk02S4TRal9LQapM1VFUblkVXiHirH3l-LwNfONmU6BfSDtlZw/s1600/Head+on+Lights1.jpg"></a><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFRtGauY4CHOplg-OGWeUQaC9k1XPZTKA-gF50Q3Hr91Qgw_1t0ZCoO9M2w9EFWmLRmZK00FdhQ8ORW3nXiK79wGDQ9Mk02S4TRal9LQapM1VFUblkVXiHirH3l-LwNfONmU6BfSDtlZw/s1600/Head+on+Lights1.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px; " src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFRtGauY4CHOplg-OGWeUQaC9k1XPZTKA-gF50Q3Hr91Qgw_1t0ZCoO9M2w9EFWmLRmZK00FdhQ8ORW3nXiK79wGDQ9Mk02S4TRal9LQapM1VFUblkVXiHirH3l-LwNfONmU6BfSDtlZw/s400/Head+on+Lights1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407766752081613138" /></a>I really liked these two images of the lighting fixtures. I love the way in which the first two wall shots have that strange fading-into-the-distance effect due to the shallow depth of field as well as the interesting texture on a single wave of the wall. The final image I took somewhat further away from the wall, focusing on the rough seal between the window and the wall. The window's reflection captures a piece of the massive construction site directly behind me and I find it interesting because it adds to a sense of directional confusion which unintentionally became a theme of this project.</div>Greg Cobbshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12963163671350928859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8349623432233049553.post-37814973708971496352009-11-24T13:37:00.006-06:002009-11-24T14:11:05.204-06:00Assignment 3 - Urban Nature<div>I decided to do the majority of my shooting for the Still Life project at my friend's uncle's ranch up in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Boerne</span>, Texas. I was disappointed when I arrived because previously the wall and doorway were covered in racist graffiti and at some point in the past 4 months, someone had covered it up with white paint. I've always been drawn to inanimate objects, particularly busted, junked-out inanimate objects, I'm not much of a people person. Anyway, this project ended up being fairly preposterous which was sort of the objective I suppose. Enjoy or don't, either is casual with me. This place is so totally amazing that Shaq eats here when he's in town playing the Spurs.<div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2qEF88aFuM7JnRgwZYfRMyh7yR9X1Ctg4s93eOXBwdNUZDkZSGkFYg0gUZbdKRltPhgdVcV9e-rlq3sFGb0t9mtn78pUS9lLcSHjSzSB216Ft3Da9AcIYs8rRpgdpkMP0gxnKsbmz1_8/s1600/Lulus+Open.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 285px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2qEF88aFuM7JnRgwZYfRMyh7yR9X1Ctg4s93eOXBwdNUZDkZSGkFYg0gUZbdKRltPhgdVcV9e-rlq3sFGb0t9mtn78pUS9lLcSHjSzSB216Ft3Da9AcIYs8rRpgdpkMP0gxnKsbmz1_8/s400/Lulus+Open.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405913299719774674" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUQ2-_mIxPa0VasSksfUjufFl_xXgj-wPAhLAq3H9__dHyZRwRIJXcO2SeijCEF3ny_7cxLrnxDoti3nwLTCBPbXi4m1gZEo972hHc_dOyJqzn4IJiPas38mFb1_7tNRTurVftpFQ3sY/s1600/Motion+Duck.jpg"></a></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUQ2-_mIxPa0VasSksfUjufFl_xXgj-wPAhLAq3H9__dHyZRwRIJXcO2SeijCEF3ny_7cxLrnxDoti3nwLTCBPbXi4m1gZEo972hHc_dOyJqzn4IJiPas38mFb1_7tNRTurVftpFQ3sY/s1600/Motion+Duck.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px; " src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUQ2-_mIxPa0VasSksfUjufFl_xXgj-wPAhLAq3H9__dHyZRwRIJXcO2SeijCEF3ny_7cxLrnxDoti3nwLTCBPbXi4m1gZEo972hHc_dOyJqzn4IJiPas38mFb1_7tNRTurVftpFQ3sY/s400/Motion+Duck.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405913203751302866" /></a>Now this was one seriously pissed off duck. I was at Brackenridge Park with some friends when a duck came out of no where and started biting my buddy's shoe and chasing him around the park. I captured this image when the duck was attempting to intimidate us by flailing its head and tail around between attempts to devour our footwear.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif4eXvAOaFrCW2TDWslRMYhUrN2a7KVM6kqa19JVP6qe1sPxGLOee9wv1fC6ozIMTqoyQU2SdYPrs0T-Kdn-9qqQBWwOursHcMHZiO0HuQC6NeNMJz5kn1t5iaSh5ZNrgB5YOu-zKRRS0/s1600/Patrick+Burger.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 279px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif4eXvAOaFrCW2TDWslRMYhUrN2a7KVM6kqa19JVP6qe1sPxGLOee9wv1fC6ozIMTqoyQU2SdYPrs0T-Kdn-9qqQBWwOursHcMHZiO0HuQC6NeNMJz5kn1t5iaSh5ZNrgB5YOu-zKRRS0/s400/Patrick+Burger.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405913140291630610" /></a>Here's my buddy Patrick enjoying himself some Whataburger post-duck attack.
